  Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to another exciting: Blog post. Alright, a little anticlimactic I will say, but you get the gist. Yes, boys, girls and the rest I wanted to talk to you about Magic: the Gathering once again. Now there's a lot of hay made today about Magic flavored Magic, and reskinning the corpse of a once beloved game series to appeal to more people. And when we find out what a beloved game is, we as Magic players might one day experience that. But for now, let's talk about naming Magic cards over again. What's that? Universes Beyond? No, functional reprints obviously. Oh, you thought I was going to take a stand on UB? No, I don't have the mental faculties to try and talk about something like that. And I mean, why would I, plenty of much more intelligent people already made video essays, tweets and skeets about it more succinctly than I can. But I did want to talk about cards that were named something else, and WOTC made them again just ...

  So, how's your New Year's Resolution going? Did you guys sign up for a gym in January like I did? If so, did you stick with it for more than a week? Are you skipping exercises that you don't like because they suck? I don't blame you, I can't stand arm day, the machines which do the most good are uncomfortable to sit in at 6'. But, you know what's not "Okay"? Not hitting legs, that's just not cool. Coach is right to be upset with Riley and Jonesy for skipping leg day. Strong legs are an important part of athletic competition, and honestly, being big up top with little legs would look funny. But you know, that got me thinking, are there enough creatures and combat tricks that only focus on Power? For years the community has made the joke about high toughness being big butts, so obviously, high power is big arms and chest. There's a lot of very scary and historic things in the world of American politics. However, I am not well versed enough in it to discuss actually salient or relevant topics. Luckily though, since satire is dead and humor may soon be on the chopping block as an increasingly volatile K-addict attempts to bully the world, this is the perfect time for a garbage listicle. So, here in no particular order are some Magic legends most likely to have engaged in a January 6th style "Protest". Yasova Dragonclaw Like any proud member of the "Dragons Ate my Face" Party, she believes that siding with the mortal enemy of your cause to spite one particular individual or group will work out swimmingly. So as any reasonable person can tell, the single best archetype is clearly Shaddolls.  How do I know this? But, that doesn't stop me from thinking they are the best, and here's why. Fusion Summon So I love me Purple cards. I think as far as summoning mechanics, it goes Face-Down, Fusion, Normal, XYZ, Links, Synchro, Ritual, and Pend. In that order, fight me. But also because they are a fusion archetype, they get access to Polymerization effects. This makes them good board breakers against hard to deal with monsters via Super Poly . It also means that because Konami likes us, they give us in archetype Fusion spells. Namely: Shaddoll Fusion- Which let's me summon using materials from the deck. More importantly, triggering the Doll GY effects. Unfortunately, it also means that you open yourself up to Ash. But that is a sacrifice I am willing to make. El Shaddoll Fusion-  One of my favorite things to do in Magic is play on my opponents' turn. This allows me to do that. Draw...

So, I haven't put a lot of thought into this blog. And while trying to parse out my thoughts on a movie I thought about it, and how all the jokes I could make were largely Magic based. So I guess I am back, for a while at least. Hopefully. Anyhow, anthems. Magic players typically call cards anthems if they pump creatures of a certain kind. Probably named after Glorious Anthem, they have been in the game since Alpha. So like Good Charlotte sang, this is The Anthem . There can't be anymore after this one. Okay, well there are lots of other anthems, so someone with more free time would have to make an exhaustive list. I'm simply going to talk about the one's I feel like.
